Reporting from Anime Boston 2008. [Mar. 22nd, 2008|10:24 pm]

So I went to Anime Boston 2008 today, and yes, I guess I was 'representative' of teh_bling (really guys, that's a damn stupid name).

This is my 3rd year in a row that I've attended the con, though my first that I'm actually cosplaying in it. And good god, it was probably the poorest run one yet. The turn out was much larger than before, and they clearly were not prepared for that. I had to queue for FOUR FUCKING HOURS just to register. Jesus Christ.

Other than that, it was the usual light hearted atmosphere, though the range of anime represented was once again a bit limited. Tons of Narutos, FF characters, KH characters, and this year there're WAY too many Ls from Deathnote. Seriously. Like everyone and their mum was L.

Anyway, not many people seemed to know of Trinity Blood, and those who did only know the series' name and not any specific character (only 2 people correctly identified me). Regardless, I was definitely noticed and pestered a fair bit for photos, which was...odd for me. Especially from girls, with some girls asking for hugs (which I obliged) which was also odd. And one girl who wanted to take me home, which was REALLY odd O____o.

Anyway, from the limited pics I have here, it was obvious that I was...rather busy O__-.

Met Hiyuki's friend, 'Cherry' at the con. Was great to meet someone from home. Being at a con by yourself does get pretty lonely, so it was nice to meet her. Great sport in obliging me in doing this gentlemanly picture XD. Sorry if I embarrassed you Cherry!

Look! AX in Boston!!!..................Okay not really. Image not to scale. (Miss you guys).

And...that's about all I managed to take. Yeah, sorry. In conclusion, was a shitty start, but I still ended up kicking a good amount of ass. Bwahha. Bwaha. Bwahaha.

Man, that's one awesome costume. I bet you really stood out from the crowd.

And it's pretty cool actually seeing someone cosplaying as Dr.McNinja. Your dad could probably pull off a Dan McNinja though.

Yeah he so could, his mustache and all XD.

Actually, in US cons, seeing people dress up as popular webcomic characters is actually fairly common, which is what's nice about them in a way.

Sorta makes up for the lower costume quality and variety I suppose.
