Death of a master... [Sep. 4th, 2008|11:36 am]
On Monday, Don LaFontaine passed away due to complications with an illness.

No idea who he is? He just happened to be one of the most sought after voice actors in the world, having voiced over numerous things such as like -

Nearly every movie trailer out there, especially the ones that began with "IN A WORLD...".

As a voice acting enthusiast, I had regarded LaFontaine as one of my biggest voice acting idols.

There have been many deaths of many good people in various industries over the years, but it's this one that hits me the hardest.

You may not know his face or name, but you most definitely know his voice. If you had ever enjoyed a movie trailer, or had wanted to see a movie due to one, then you should know the magnitude of the loss the death of this great man has.

Goodbye, LaFontaine.

Rest well oh 'King of Voice-overs'...

Oh god, it's that guy with "The Voice". I think he's pretty much the guy who perfected the art of voice-overs and really made what he said appear in clear, block letters in your head. Movie trailers are never gonna feel the same again...

RIP Mr. LaFontaine
