Emperoral modifications [Oct. 5th, 2009|12:01 am]

Heya all, what's happenin' ?

Sat on my arse all day doing a paper and having inner mental turmoils about strange dreams I've been having involving going to long out of business fast food joints, and ordering 2 helpings of side dishes and complaining about getting an ice cream of a fruit flavour I dislike that I did not order.......

For details on that, give me a buzz on MSN or something if you're interested...

ANYWAY, my roommate actually went out to the art store that we were supposed to go to together, but didn't due to the rain, and got me velcro tape, bless his geeky heart.

With that, I was able to make the necessary modifications to Emperor Form and it's now almost 100% road-ready for conventions and the like.

Took some really quick pics, and most of them suck balls as it's kinda difficult to do all this by yourself when you're physically and visually impaired, but you'd get the idea:

Like Kiva form, I used industrial strength velcro tape to attach the thigh and knee pads, instead of trusting the glue Sushiya uses...

Now, I can actually bend my knees and stuff as much as I could with Kiva form. HOORAY!

Did the same to the gloves too, but with one difference. I made the mistake of joining all the finger parts together with a single strip of velcro with Kiva form. Thus the gloves to be honest, looked like crap, all flat and cardboardy. This time round, I took the time to velcro every little digit by itself. I also bent all the fingers around my hands, so that they curl and look more streamlined, especially when I clench my fists.

Bah, shitty pic, moved too soon as it was hard to see with the helmet on. Anyway, here's another shot of the gloves.

And finally, added a bit of velcro to my left gauntlet, as well as to the bottom of Tatsulot's mounting base. With the additional assistance of the straps Sushiya gave me (well okay, STRAP, the other one still doesn't fit with everything on), he's actually on there very stably now.

I can actually yank on him now without much fear of seeing him go flying into parts unknown. That'd definitely not be tension fortissimo if that happened...

All that's left now is to lengthen my gauntlets, especially my right one, so that they clasp over my forearms better, and it should be set.
